L.B.’s journey from willpower to calm around food✨ L.B.’s journey from willpower to calm around food✨

When LB came to me she felt out of control and defeated. After trying diets for decades, having multiple surgeries and even doctor mediated psychedelic treatment she was still lost.

The most torturous part? She was living her dream life and was confused why she was sabotaging herself with emotional eating.

But she was open to a new way beyond willpower. She was open to resolving the root of her pattern.

She joined the program and committed to the process. She showed up and asked for support + guidance. And she followed the step by step process in The Emotional Eating Evolution Program.

1️⃣She implemented practical strategies around food; discerning true vs emotional hunger, nourishing her body, eating enough. She was less restrictive and could enjoy food + going out. Food was no longer an obsession and she could start seeing her triggers.

2️⃣She let go of her obsession to drop a quick 20 |bs and focused on how her body was feeling - bringing in more ease, calm & peace. She tuned into the needs of her body, added movement she needed, and started accepting her body. This lessened her triggers.

3️⃣She did the deeper emotional work through the somatic meditations to get to the root. The “meditations were key”. and we were able to resolve some of her deep patterns/traumas from various times in her life that were triggering her emotional eating, low self worth & obsession.

The result?

Feeling free, calm and happy and no longer emotionally eating or obsessing about food. Is she done? No, she has a vision to creating a healthier body but it is coming from a more aligned place vs. obsession and punishment☺️

The Emotional Eating Evolution Program as been “the only thing that has helped me”. I am so honoured to have seen her shift in the program after decades of feeling out of control.

If you are ready to resolve your emotional eating from the root so you can feel free, calm and at peace with your body and around food then I invite you to apply to The Emotional Eating Evolution Program - link in bio✨
Why Weight Loss Surgery Won’t Stop Obsessive Food Why Weight Loss Surgery Won’t Stop Obsessive Food Thoughts or Emotional Eating

A lot of women believe that if they just lost the weight, their obsession with food would stop.

And this leads to a lot of women to get weight loss surgery. But what many women are shocked to learn is that while they initially have motivation and momentum after the surgery, and they are losing weight, their emotional eating urges eventually come back.

So yes, you can physically eat less, but that emotional urge to eat is still there.

Because emotional eating doesn’t start in your stomach. It starts much deeper.

Let’s dive in to see what really resolves emotional eating. Comment or DM “surgery” and I’ll send you the full video✨
The paradox of body acceptance…you don’t have to l The paradox of body acceptance…you don’t have to love your body.

I learned to accept my body because I was at my wit’s end. I was exhausted with trying to fit my body into a certain size to feel good.

And I couldn’t sustain it.

I could get some results with diets.
I actually reached my “ideal’ body only to feel like “what’s the point?” and slipped back into old habits and emotional eating.

My body seemed to have a mind of it’s own I realized I could fight it or I could accept it.

This didn’t mean I gave up on my body.

I wanted to feel good on the inside because reaching “the ideal” felt good for a minute until the compliments wore off.

So I decided I would accept my body. Not an easy feat and it’s not all love and light.

This didn’t mean I loved or even liked parts of my body. It meant I stopped the incessant criticism and became more neutral. My inner critic calmed down and was replaces with a more compassionate voice that was rooted in reality.

This relieved a lot of stress and pressure I was putting on myself internally. This pressure makes the body stay in stress mode (aka the mode where the body holds onto weight).

So paradoxically by accepting myself I created an environment that lessened my triggers to emotional eating, improved my energy and digestion, and allowed my body to release weight it no longer needed.

This wasn’t my goal, but it was a nice side effect. My body wanted to get to it’s healthy - it just needed acceptance and compassion.

And when I did it gave me what my ego wanted, but now it didn’t really feel the same. I already had what my ego thought my “ideal” body would give me.

I now had the acceptance I was chasing, was on the path to the love I wanted and I felt good in my body.

If you want to dive deeper to see what really shifts your emotional eating, so you can feel at ease and confident around food and in your body then comment or DM “masterclass” and I’ll send over my free training✨
Do you have a healthy relationship to hunger? I Do you have a healthy relationship to hunger?

I was on a call with a women who said he had a healthy relationship to food.

She was in a calorie deficit and found herself hungry. She could fight it off some days…

I think we’ve lost the plot when we think this is healthy.

She would then find herself binging and emotional eating other times. Her restriction around food was not helping her emotional eating.

She wanted to heal her emotional eating so she could control food better.

But when you’re in a deficit and not eating enough calories your brain will say “I’m starving, I need food”.

This creates extra stress in your body which can increase you being triggered into emotional eating because your “discomfort/stress” bucket is already full.

I find with clients these 2 layers are always happening; some type of food restriction that leads to bingeing and triggers to emotional eating.

It’s not a simple calories in equals calories out that shifts your body - this is old thinking and doesn’t include the type of food, digestion, fullness and the nervous system state.

Our body doesn’t want to hold onto weight when we are nourishing it, accepting it and moving through our emotions.

If you’d like to dive in deeper I have a free masterclass with the 3 keys for ambitious women to resolve their emotional eating from the root. Comment “masterclass” and I’ll send it over.
The Mother Wound, Not Feeling Good Enough & Emotio The Mother Wound, Not Feeling Good Enough & Emotional Eating

Emotional eating isn’t about the food. It’s about soothing that pain of feeling like you’re not good enough – a wound that started in early childhood.

Many women who struggle with emotional eating grew up feeling unseen, overly criticized, emotionally unsupported or responsible for everyone else’s emotions. They became the peacekeeper.

They learned hat they had to earn love, approval or safety. This isn’t about blaming anyone, it’s about understanding where this pattern began.

Because when a child doesn’t feel emotionally safe, supported, seen, approved of, accepted, or good enough, they often learn to disconnect from themselves.

But that pain, it remains.

Food often becomes the way they numb, soothe, or caretake this pain.

Over time this can turn into feelings of emptiness, and food becomes the thing that temporarily fills that void.

Check out the full video to see how to start resolving the deep roots of this pattern. Comment or DM “mother” and I’ll send it over✨
Where does food noise come from? Food noise is w Where does food noise come from?

Food noise is when it feels like all you think about is food, there no space for other thoughts and you feel obsessed.

For emotional eaters this noise can be incessant.

If we break it down we have to look at food noise in 2 ways.

If you’re on a diet, you are restricting and making yourself eat in a certain way. This means you might not be eating enough nutrients or calories and this makes your brain say “I need food” and the thoughts keep coming.

You also shift into “food noise” mode when discomfort and uncomfortable emotions come up because you use food to soothe and cope.

For emotional eaters this is a double whammy of food noise because they are usually using diets and restriction to control their emotional eating. But it’s just compounding the issue.

You need to work with food noise at both levels and this is part of what we do inside of The Emotional Eating Evolution Program so that you can feel peace and ease around food and in your body…with no food noise!

How your opinion of your emotions is keeping you s How your opinion of your emotions is keeping you stuck in emotional eating👇🏽

I once worked with a woman who was stuck for a long time with her emotional eating.

We were doing a lot of deep work on her emotions, somatically and with her inner parts.

There was this part of her that just dismissed any discomfort she felt, any emotion, any sadness or any annoyance.

She literally thought it was silly to entertain these emotions.

What she didn’t realize was that part of her was created because growing up she wasn’t allowed to have emotions.

She had to be this “perfect” doll around her father.

But the truth is the discomfort of our emotions doesn’t go away. If we don’t move through them they stay stuck in our body and create more pain.

When we’re younger and don’t know how to move through this emotional discomfort we look for ways to cope. If you’re an emotional eater that means going to food to soothe the pain.

So while you think you’re being an adult by not entertaining these emotions - you are actually pushing yourself to emotionally eat.

Inside of The Emotional Eating Evolution Program we look at what is making you making you emotionally eat and resolve it at the root so you can feel ease and peace around food and in your body.

Why Dieting, Fasting, and “Starting Over” Triggers Why Dieting, Fasting, and “Starting Over” Triggers Emotional Eating👇🏽

Have you noticed that every time you start a new diet, a new eating plan or intermittent fasting, you end up thinking about food so much more?

Or even emotionally eating? I know that in these moments, it can feel like you need even more discipline.

But what’s actually happening has nothing to do with willpower.

So, you start with good intentions. You think, “Oh my god, I just need to get my eating under control. This time I’ll be consistent. This time I’ll be good. This time I’ll finally be able to do it.” You feel confident.

And at first, it probably works because you have some willpower. You have momentum. You feel in control, you’re focussed, and you have a plan.

But then the cravings come on. The urges come on. You want more food. You can’t stop thinking about food. And eventually, you give in.

You emotionally eat, you overeat, and you might even binge.

And you think, “Why does this keep happening to me?

Let’s dive in and see how to get out of this cycle. Comment “triggers” and I’ll send over the full video✨
Unresolved emotions shift your body…to stress mode Unresolved emotions shift your body…to stress mode (aka weight gain mode).

I don’t like to talk about weight but it’s very real symptom women experience with emotional eating.

And it’s not only because you’re eating more food.

It’s because your nervous system is in a chronic stress state from unprocessed emotions (which you use food to soothe). In this state the body will hold onto weight, disrupt your digestion, mess with your mood and lower your self esteem and confidence.

This chronic stress in the nervous system is from unresolved emotions and trauma at a low level that can get triggered and spiral you into emotional eating. It’s always subtly there in the incessant thoughts about food, the micromanaging and low self esteem.

The deeper layer of trauma and unresolved emotions has been there a long time. It’s just becoming more apparent as the diets, the therapy the training are no longer working to fend off the weight gain.

And while the supplements, the adaptogens, workouts, the change in food is helpful and supportive to help mitigate some of this stress..they cannot shift unresolved emotions on a body level.

This usually gets bypassed in emotional eating programs who give you affirmations or other surface level fixes.

When you shift the deep somatic layers making you go to food to soothe that means the nervous system shifts to rest and digest mode -> the is the calm you’re craving that naturally allows the body to release weight, digest better, boost mood so you feel confidence and ease.

I learned this when I was eating super well, working out, taking the supplements … my digestion should have been great but I needed to resolve the deeper emotional layers shifting my body to stress mode and emotional eating.

To shift this patter you need a multilayered approach that looks at the emotional layer, as well as nourishment and body acceptance.

If you want to dive deeper to see what really shifts your emotional eating, so you can feel at ease and confident around food and in your body then comment or DM “masterclass” and I’ll send over my free training✨
