Emotional eating became automatic instead of this Emotional eating became automatic instead of this (what you actually needed)

So is healing your emotional eating as easy as feeling your emotions?

If it was that easy you wouldn’t have developed emotional eating as a coping mechanism to soothe yourself from your emotions.

You decided a long time ago as a child to use food because you didn’t have the modelling from your parents or caregivers to move through discomfort, stress and uncomfortable emotions. This would have needed to be a repetitive process not a one and done thing.

Instead, you had to cope. And food became the way you did that.

So you were never taught how to move through emotions to get to calm and clarity in a repetitive way so it would be automatic to process emotions.

What became automatic for you was to use food to soothe.

And while I can simply say “be with your emotions” it’s not that easy because you’ve developed so many protections against feeling your emotions.

You might dismiss them and think you shouldn’t feel this way.

In our society we dismiss emotions because we’re not being “logical”. Here’s the truth - feeling your emotions opens up more logic and clarity because we calm our nervous system which creates more ease and peace in our body and around food.

It’s not always easy to be with your emotions but it’s possible and part of the work to healing emotional eating. This is a big part of what we do inside of The Emotional Eating Evolution Program.

How fear keeps you stuck in emotional eating. Ha How fear keeps you stuck in emotional eating.

Have you noticed that when you try to do something about your emotional eating, that voice in your head gets louder?

You might not even “hear” what you are telling yourself because your body shut down, felt anxious or you even went to food to soothe yourself.

Change is uncomfortable, even the idea of it.

Getting out of your comfort zone can be scary, your fears will try to convince you to stay the same.

It’s coming from a good place, your mind wants you to be safe.

But to your mind safe = familiar. Even if what is familiar isn’t working for you.

This holds you back from making the changes you want to make.

Your mind will try to keep you safe, but that keeps you stuck.

It can look like
-I don’t have the time
-I don’t have the money
-I don’t like to cook
-I need life to be perfect (ummm)
-Life needs to calm down
-Etc.

I’m not one to dismiss fear or any emotion that comes up. I sit with it, see what it’s trying to do and from that clarity make my decision.

Is the fear true is it really helping you or is it making you stay stuck in a cycle that doesn’t work for you?

Sometimes we know what we need to do and there’s still a bit a of fear. It’s in the doing that the fear dissipates.

Inside of The Emotional Eating Evolution Program we work with these fears so that you can get to clarity and take the steps needed to change your emotional eating.

But the first step is on you to decide if you want to change.

If you’d like support in resolving your emotional eating from the root so you can have ease and peace around food and in your body then book in a clarity call. DM “clarity” to chat✨
This Is Probably Why You’re Still Struggling With This Is Probably Why You’re Still Struggling With Emotional Eating

If you’ve been trying to heal your emotional eating for months or maybe even years, and you still feel stuck – this might be the reason why.

And it’s probably not what you think.

It’s not that you’re not trying hard enough. It’s not that you don’t have enough discipline or willpower. It’s not that you don’t know enough about nutrition.

The reason might be that you’re avoiding the thing that would actually create sustainable change for you.

Most women that I’ve talked to, and most women I’ve worked with, have tried so many things before they start working with me.

They’ve tried the diets, cutting out sugar, working with a personal trainer, they’ve gone to talk therapy, doing somatic work and even psychedelics. They’ve done mindset work and tried to have more control around food.

And every time they try one of these different approaches, there’s hope. Like, “finally, I’ll heal this emotional eating”.

But eventually their emotional eating comes back.

It’s because they’re trying to solve a root level problem with surface solutions.

So here’s what I’ve noticed.

Comment or DM “root” and I’ll send you the full video✨
Can AI help you heal Emotional eating? Recently I Can AI help you heal Emotional eating?

Recently I had someone on YouTube leave a comment on one of my videos. She told me thinks AI helped her find the root of her emotional eating. She actually couldn’t confirm because she had not taken the process into her body.

And…from her comment she seemed to think that was the end of the journey.

It’s not.

I share the root of emotional eating all the time - it’s not what heals it. Knowing what the root may be gives you awareness but it’s the embodied process of healing the root that creates true change.

What I’ve learned about AI is that while it can be a powerful tool if you know how to use it. I mean it’s pulling info from the whole internet…

But it is not the authority on you, you are.

AI is not in your body. It doesn’t have a body. It does not have the lived experience of a human no matter how much information it has.

I’ve played around with AI to see how well it can help with patterns…

It is great at gathering information but it lacks a body and how a human body processes emotions.

It can’t co-regulate with you.

It can serve as a talk therapist in a way, giving you awareness and possibilities but it stops there.

All in all I get frustrated with it lacking the somatic processing to really shift patterns.

To heal emotional eating, we must be willing to dive into ourselves, our body and want to be sovereign. The root is in the body and when you emotionally eat you avoid the body.

AI can further that avoidance of what it really takes to heal emotional eating.

If you are on the path to healing your emotional eating you need to look at all layers not just the “knowledge” piece but how to embody this change.

When I work with clients this is what we are doing - bringing you back into connection with yourself, your body and healing at a body level so you can get to ease and peace around food and of course in your body.

If you are ready to resolve your emotional eating from the root in your body then I invite you to book in an Emotional Eating Clarity call to see how I can support you in the program. DM “clarity” to chat✨
Are you really chasing THIS when you emotionally e Are you really chasing THIS when you emotionally eat?

The chemicals of connection. Stick with me.

I was just listening to a podcast about addiction and trauma and this was the perfect phrasing of what I see with my clients.

When you emotionally eat you are using food to soothe yourself, meet your emotional needs, or to distract from the pain with the dopamine food releases.

Yes food can give you some relief but it will never fill THAT hole.

That hole, those emotions that you have, you were meant to have parents or caregivers to guide you through them, to create a safe space, to connect with you.

To see, hear, validate and accept you when you were younger.

And when you don’t have that you have to seek out a way to get some type of relief, pleasure or connection to have those “feel good” chemicals released.

And so food was one of those ways that was accessible when you were younger.

But in order to heal your emotional eating you have to separate when you use food as a bandaid and start meeting your deeper needs that food cannot.

This is what we do inside of The Emotional Eating Evolution Program with a step by step process that gets into the body to start healing this pattern.

How I Finally Stopped Emotional Eating (& Why I No How I Finally Stopped Emotional Eating (& Why I Now Help Women Heal It Too)👇🏽

For years, I thought I just needed to control my relationship to food. I felt so out of control. I thought if I was just more disciplined with food and knew how to control it, then I’d finally feel okay.

I’d finally have the body I wanted. I’d finally feel confident and accepted.

But the truth is, the more I tried to control food, the more out of control I felt. Looking back on my journey, I didn’t know I was an emotional eater.

Now I can see the pieces coming together.

The more I tried to control this behaviour with diets and other approaches, the more out of control I felt. What finally helped me shift my emotional eating, when I really put the pieces together, had very little to do with controlling food at all.

When I healed my emotional eating, before I became a holistic nutritionist, I was really inspired by food and how it made me feel. I wanted to teach about my nw found love for food…

But when I started working with clients, I noticed they struggled to make the changes I was asking them to make because they were dealing with the same issue I had faced.

Check out the full video for how I stopped emotional eating and started helping women do the same. Comment or DM “emotional eating” and I’ll send over the full video✨
Another trip around the sun… In a very mercury re Another trip around the sun…

In a very mercury retrograde season. What hasn’t gone wrong all week? lol

This year, well every year, feels like deeper growth and evolution. It’s bittersweet.

I’m not sure it’s apparent on the surface but internally so much is transforming.

I’ve realized, I’ve always been very true to myself but my fears are still subtly there - holding me back.

I’ve faced some of my deepest wounds this year thinking I had been through them. But I find the more you integrate, the more vulnerable parts of you emerge so you can hold them. This is the journey.

Or maybe it’s just part of my life path as a cancer sun, navigating the mother archetype and the emotional realms. Probably both.

To another year of evolution 🦀❤️
It’s not *just* the food you emotionally eat that It’s not *just* the food you emotionally eat that impacts your health…it’s the emotions you hold in.

Have you ever felt that tightness in your shoulders when stressed. Or felt a knot in your stomach?

That’s your body reacting to emotions, and when you don’t release it this area stays constricted and is painful. This means less blood flow and nutrient delivery leading to pain, inflammation and eventually dis - ease.

As an emotional eater your brain then says “go to food” to soothe the emotional and physical pain.

BUT food can’t heal this pain.

So the processed food you emotionally eats gives a dopamine hit but just covers up the pain and impacts your body for sure because you’re eating foods that don’t give to your body + you’re not really hungry.

But those emotions - they impact your health as well, more deeply than the emotional eating in my opinion.

Because the trapped emotion creates a physical constriction. It shifts the body into stress mode…which impacts your health, mood, weight, etc chronically.

So how do you resolve this? You need to work on nourishing your body but also on resolving the triggers and stored emotions creating emotional eating.

This is what we do inside of The Emotional Eating Evolution Program to get you back to ease and peace around food and in your body.

If you’d like to get started on resolving your emotional eating then grab my free guide “What Are You Truly Hungry For?”. Comment or DM “guide” and I’ll send it over!
L.B.’s journey from willpower to calm around food✨ L.B.’s journey from willpower to calm around food✨

When LB came to me she felt out of control and defeated. After trying diets for decades, having multiple surgeries and even doctor mediated psychedelic treatment she was still lost.

The most torturous part? She was living her dream life and was confused why she was sabotaging herself with emotional eating.

But she was open to a new way beyond willpower. She was open to resolving the root of her pattern.

She joined the program and committed to the process. She showed up and asked for support + guidance. And she followed the step by step process in The Emotional Eating Evolution Program.

1️⃣She implemented practical strategies around food; discerning true vs emotional hunger, nourishing her body, eating enough. She was less restrictive and could enjoy food + going out. Food was no longer an obsession and she could start seeing her triggers.

2️⃣She let go of her obsession to drop a quick 20 |bs and focused on how her body was feeling - bringing in more ease, calm & peace. She tuned into the needs of her body, added movement she needed, and started accepting her body. This lessened her triggers.

3️⃣She did the deeper emotional work through the somatic meditations to get to the root. The “meditations were key”. and we were able to resolve some of her deep patterns/traumas from various times in her life that were triggering her emotional eating, low self worth & obsession.

The result?

Feeling free, calm and happy and no longer emotionally eating or obsessing about food. Is she done? No, she has a vision to creating a healthier body but it is coming from a more aligned place vs. obsession and punishment☺️

The Emotional Eating Evolution Program as been “the only thing that has helped me”. I am so honoured to have seen her shift in the program after decades of feeling out of control.

If you are ready to resolve your emotional eating from the root so you can feel free, calm and at peace with your body and around food then I invite you to apply to The Emotional Eating Evolution Program - link in bio✨
