The Impact of Processed Foods on Emotional Eating👇🏽

While emotional eating isn’t just about food, food does play a role in the process.

When we’re trying to resolve emotional eating, we often feel out of control with food, and we try to regain control through restrictive diets, intense exercise plans, or even intuitive eating. All of these strategies offer a piece of the puzzle, but they don’t provide the whole solution.

For example, with intuitive eating, we treat food as neutral. We don’t judge it as “good” or “bad” based on whether it’s health-giving or health-depleting.

While, in a sense, food can be considered neutral, we must understand the qualities of food because they directly impact our body and emotions.

That’s why we turn to food in the first place—to cover up pain and discomfort. Food triggers a biochemical reaction in our body, releasing dopamine, which makes us feel good momentarily.

So yes, we need to release that layer of shame, judgment, and criticism we put on ourselves.

AND…

We need to recognize that food has qualities that impact us, both physically and emotionally.

👉🏽Let’s dive in. Comment “food” and I’ll send over the full video✨
The Truth About Emotional Eating No One’s Talkin The Truth About Emotional Eating No One’s Talking About 👀

Here are some of the biggest mistakes I see women with emotional eating making:

1.Relying on quick fix diets, intense exercise, willpower
2.Relying of the health system to fix the problem with pills, surgery or programs that don’t get to the root
3.Intuitive Eating
4.Over eaters Anonymous
4.Going to therapy and just talking about things

…And these are just some of the common ones.

Emotional eating is complex and multilayered, and to truly resolve it, we need to understand it from all angles and get to the root.

Your emotional eating is a coping mechanism. It’s connected to thoughts, emotions and stress. AND it’s tied into trauma which lives in the body.

Which is why quick-fix solutions, which give you a temporary result, will never work long term. Because it won’t address the deeper layers to your pattern. Like my client recently said after trying all the diets and emotional eating programs - they didn’t get to the core...

This is why I want to invite you to join my FREE MASTERCLASS tomorrow!

In the masterclass, we’ll dive deep into the layers of emotional eating, debunk some common myths about emotional eating, and expose some overlooked triggers to emotional eating.

In this masterclass you’ll learn how to address your emotional eating from all angles, giving you a holistic strategy to move towards a life feeling at ease around food and in your body.

Emotional eating keeps you from feeling ease in your body, at peace around food and showing up confidently in your life.

You’re not here to just learn how to resolve your Emotional Eating, you’re here to evolve the quality of your life.

I’m so grateful I resolved this pattern before I had my son, so I could model something better to him: a healthier relationship to food, more confidence in my body, compassion for my emotions. And most of all becoming more whole.

This journey is about being the version of yourself you desire to be - a better parent, a present partner, a better business leader, a true friend, showing up confidently at work and in your life.

This journey isn’t about finding a magic bullet. It’s about addressing the root causes of your Emotional Eating and giving you the knowledge, tools and strategies to resolve so you get to the other side where food doesn’t determine your worth or level of confidence.

This is about your life. Isn’t that worth the investment?

Emotional eating starts with trauma. And trauma Emotional eating starts with trauma.

And trauma is not a scary word.

Ok, I get it. Years ago I didn’t even know what trauma was. Looking back I didn’t feel my environment was healthy. And to cope I used food.

I didn’t know it then, but it’s glaringly obvious now.

Trauma runs the world - and we cope. In our case with food.

Trauma is unresolved emotions + events we experienced. If we can’t process them our mind is so super smart that it makes the body hold the emotions in and then looks for ways to numb the pain. Like with food (it’s drug of choice).

It’s really not about the food but kind of is (join my masterclass to dive deeper on this nuance!).

So when I’m working with clients the root of their pattern is trauma from childhood. Big T to small t.  You might not remember it but your body does and covers it up with emotional eating urges.

It thinks it’s helping you by distracting you with food but simultaneously it’s impacting how you feel about yourself and making you feel ashamed.

But there’s a way out. Whew and bonus when you do this you get to ease and peace around food and in your body. Your body literally shifts it’s nervous system from being on edge to calm.

It’s not about willpower, diets or any of that surface stuff. Some practitioner’s don’t really get it. You deserve understanding, support, and guidance — not more shame or quick fixes.

If you want to actually see what shifts your pattern with emotional eating I’ll be sharing more in my free masterclass for ambitious women looking for a solution that goes beyond just white-knuckling it through a binge with surface-level solutions.

In this masterclass, you’ll learn:

🤯Why willpower isn’t the answer

🤯 Why diets fail you

🤯 What’s really triggering this pattern

🤯The 3 Keys to resolving emotional eating

Don’t settle for surface solutions that don’t address the root cause. It’s time to take control of your emotional eating journey.

Why Willpower Won’t Fix Your Emotional Eating (A Why Willpower Won’t Fix Your Emotional Eating (And What Actually Will)👇🏽

I get it. I’m a pretty disciplined person and I can willpower and push through and I did for years with all the things (diets, exercise, therapy, etc). I remember when I lived in this tiny space and would spend all my money on therapy showing up week after week for almost 2 years, doing daily affirmations, re-writing my thoughts and mirror work yet nothing was shifting. I was eating my vegetables and working out diligently. I even added in a chiropractor and nutritionist and still nothing.

Months and eventually years went by and there was no real dent in my Emotional Eating. I still had emotional eating episodes.

I was still hitting up against the same wall and feeling like a failure. I just couldn’t make things stick.

My clients are the same way. They think they need more “willpower” to do the things perfectly and they keep hitting up against the same wall.

But this is just reinforcing the belief that something is wrong with you. That you are not enough which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Yes, it’s true we need willpower to make changes in our life and this can happen easily if we have no resistance to that specific change.

Think about willpower as the tip of an iceberg - it has 5% power vs. your emotional eating pattern which is subconscious and has 95% power over your actions when triggered. When you drive a car, you don’t think about it and you get to your destination - automatically. That’s because it’s subconscious.

If you want to have an impact on your emotional eating beyond just trying to willpower your way out of a binge you have to address the deeper underlying blocks with specific tools to shift the pattern. This goes beyond willpower.

I’ll be sharing more about this and the most overlooked underlying causes of Emotional Eating and how you can address it.

I’ll be laying out the exact method I use to help my clients feel peace and ease around food and in their body.

Emotional Eating Isn’t About Willpower — Here’s What It’s REALLY About!

You’ve probably been told you need more willpower or to avoid your triggers to finally feel at ease around food and confident in your body.

If you’re an ambitious woman struggling with emotional eating - I’m sure you’ve tried this with no luck.

Because you don’t need more willpower or to avoid triggers ;)

I get it - I’ve been there too. I had A LOT of willpower and tried all the things; diets, personal training, therapy sessions and more.

But after years of trying all these things without real change, I hit my breaking point. I knew there had to be a better way.

So, I changed things; I ate what I wanted, moved countries (yes), changed careers - hoping I’d have a breakthrough and finally feel ok.

But guess what? I still didn’t feel better.

That’s when I realized: emotional eating was my go to coping mechanism. I used it to deal with stress, trauma, and all the uncomfortable emotions I didn’t know how to handle.

I had to figure out my emotional eating because it was stronger than ever and my episodes were debilitating making me break down in tears. I felt disgusted with myself and knew I needed to do something. So, I rolled up my sleeves and figured out the pieces step by step. There was tons of trial and error but eventually I got there.

It’s been over 10 years since I’ve emotionally eaten - I feel confident and at ease around food—and in my body—without using willpower, without shaming myself, without counting calories…

And now I teach women just like you how to do the same.

If you’re ready to resolve your emotional eating then join my FREE Masterclass where I’ll share:

	•	Why willpower doesn’t work.
	•	Why diets fail you.
	•	What’s really triggering your urge to emotionally eat.
	•	The 3 Keys to resolving emotional eating for good.

In this Masterclass, you’ll see what’s really been going on and how to stop this pattern and start feeling like you’re in the driver’s seat again.

Emotional Eating: A Multilayered Issue That Requir Emotional Eating: A Multilayered Issue That Requires a Holistic Solution

Emotional eating can feel like an overwhelming challenge, especially when it seems like the typical solutions—diets and exercise plans—don’t work.

You might feel like you’re stuck in a cycle where food becomes your way of coping with emotions, leaving you feeling out of control and disconnected from your body.

As ambitious women, you might have already tried a variety of approaches:
* Diets and exercise – but they didn’t bring lasting results.
* Intuitive eating – listening to your body, trying not to restrict, but still feeling stuck.
* Body positivity and self-acceptance – learning to love yourself, but still struggling with food choices.

You might feel like you’ve tried everything, but there’s still a deeper issue you’re not addressing.

The reality? Emotional eating is far more complex than simply restricting or listening to your body. It’s about connecting with your body’s needs and emotions on a deeper level, and sometimes that requires digging into the emotional roots and trauma that are running your eating habits.

👉🏽Let’s explore. Comment “layers” and I’ll send over the full video✨
Emotional eating can feel like something that can Emotional eating can feel like something that can take you over and is pulling you back in life.

A lot of women hide this pattern and wait far too long to actually do something about it because they feel deep shame.

The longer you stay in this pattern the more you convince yourself your needs are not important.

On the other side is so much more. Yes you will feel ease and confidence around food and in your body.

But you will start to feel whole in yourself.

If you’re ready to get to the other side of this pattern then book in an Emotional Eating Clarity call at the link in my bio or DM “clarity” to see how The EEE Program can support you✨
Emotional Eating: Understanding Its Deeper Impact Emotional Eating: Understanding Its Deeper Impact on Your Health

When we emotionally eat, we often believe that the answer is simply controlling food and our body.

We think: “Of course I gained weight – I ate too much. I overate.”
It seems like a straightforward cause and effect, but the truth is, it’s far more complex.

Emotional eating is a coping mechanism. Looking back at my own journey, I was trapped in the same belief. I thought I needed to control food and my body, and I hear the same from many women I work with.

But when we rely on traditional methods like diets or extreme exercise to control food and our body, and they don’t help us stop emotional eating, it’s time to dig deeper.

Here’s the truth: when we emotionally eat, we’re trying to soothe ourselves from discomfort, distress, or difficult emotions.

But here’s the catch — we’re not actually physically hungry. And eating when we’re not truly hungry can affect our bodies in several ways.
