Hello, love!
A lot of my clients struggle with body image issues and emotional eating. These two things are often deeply connected, and body image issues can be a major trigger for emotional eating.
We might think, “I emotionally eat, which affects my body, and that’s why I have body image issues.” But the truth is, it’s often much deeper than that.
It’s usually a combination—body image issues and emotional eating tend to go hand in hand.
For many, emotional eating is the only way we feel we can soothe ourselves when we’re dealing with shame about our bodies or feeling “not good enough.”
This creates a vicious cycle. We try to stop emotional eating so we can get the body we want, hoping that will bring us the acceptance and love we’re searching for. But this cycle continues, and when we can’t maintain a strict diet or exercise routine, we feel shame again, and turn to food to cope.
So, how do we break this cycle?
