Hello love,

Having compassion for yourself on your Emotional Eating journey and beyond is going to help you so much more than you think.

I wanted to talk about compassion and how you can cultivate more of it on your journey. The reason I want to share this is because most emotional eaters I know (I know I was!) are hard on themselves and highly critical of themselves.

We have done all the things (the diets, exercise, pills, etc) to try to get to a place where we finally feel accepted and ok.

AND that journey is not a compassionate, loving or caring journey which keeps us from getting to our true goal and true needs.

I want to share how you can think about this journey in a more compassionate way so that you can find the tools and programs to help you move forward without punishing yourself and criticizing yourself.

Compassion might sound a bit esoteric but it is about understanding yourself, accepting yourself and seeing where you are at right now. This boils down to being in reality and starting your journey from a grounded place.

Shift in the Nervous System

When we are chasing all the diets, pills and all the things the voice in our head is usually very critical and negative. That voice puts our nervous system into fight or flight mode that pulls us away from our goals.

In this fight or flight mode which is a stress state we turn on mood imbalance, digestive issues, weight gain and inflammatory conditions to name a few things.

Compassion actually eases us into acceptance and understanding which shifts our nervous system to rest and digest. This helps us have better moods, improved digestion, lowers inflammation and releases weight.

Check out the video below at the timestamps to dive deeper:
