For the past few weeks I have been enjoying adding fresh dill to my salads. Yes dill, the same dill found in dill pickles. Dill gives my salads a great flavor punch and nutritional punch too. It is loaded with powerful antioxidant protection. In particular some of its compounds can neutralize carcinogens found in cigarette smoke (yay!) and charcoal grill smoke (yay again!). Dill also helps to prevent bacterial overgrowth much like garlic1. Seems to me like dill not only has a yummy and intense flavor but an awesome nutritional profile; my favorite combination!

So don’t be shy, add some dill to your life. You can use it to marinate veggies or add it to a salad  like I do 🙂
