Hello love!

About a week or so ago my little family and I went to New York for a quick weekend getaway! We usually go to NYC in the summer but babies change things a little ( a lot!). Fall seemed the perfect time to get away and the weather was so so lovely.

Even though I was on vacation I always DO my morning routine because it is so important. Check out the video for more details!

#1 Hydrate!

Always hydrate first thing when you wake up with warm water. I usually have about 1 litre. If this seems too much experiment on yourself. I explain more in the video!

#2 Warm Water + Fresh Lemon

Have a glass of warm water + 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice (not from a bottle from a lemon!). Even when travelling I try to get my hands on lemons OR I bring a few from home. That is how important this habit is to me. My husband knows me so well that on the way back to the hotel after a walk he spotted a fruit vendor and bought me a few lemons. Now that is true love lol

I discuss the benefits of this in the video. 1 tsp-1tb of raw unpasteurized organic apple cider vinegar is a great alternative too.

#3 Something GREEN!

When travelling I recommend having a great greens powder. I like the Green Vibrance travel packs. I have been using this one for years and I like it. My husband on the other hand doesn’t like the taste but has it. I think a shot of it in the morning after all the hydrating is a great boost to your system. The probiotics are amazing for immunity and bowel movements, two things that may be compromised when travelling!

You can find this one at Whole Foods in the U.S., in Toronto at the following health food stores: Qi, Noah’s, The Big Carrot Dispensery and most health food stores and of course online.

I usually have a green smoothie every morning (about a litre because I love them so much!) which is a better alternative to a green powder if you are at home. Green smoothies are made of whole foods. Since they are blended they are easily digested and energizing.  Be sure to CHEW to get your digestion really going.

This smoothie is packed with greens and fruits and is a living food containing beautifying enzymes. If after half an hour you are hungry continue with your typical breakfast. This IS my breakfast and I love it!

When to eat?

This may be controversial but after practicing this for years i feel you should eat when you are truly hungry in the morning after hydrating. check out the video for more details!
